Gershwin at 80—KUSC-FM

On September 26, 1978, the occasion of George Gershwin’s 80th birthday, The Institute of the American Musical produced a 4-hour radio documentary of George Gershwin’s life and work. The program, created and hosted by Miles Kreuger, featured many interviews conducted for the show along with dozens of period recordings of Gershwin’s music. Special guests included Irving Caesar, E. Y. “Yip” Harburg, Robert Russell Bennett, Kay Swift, Rouben Mamoulian, Tessa Kosta, and Frances Gershwin Godowsky.
