Artwork and Publicity

In 1977, New York City’s own radio station, WNYC-AM, promoted Miles Kreuger’s new book, Show Boat: The Story of a Classic American Musical with a special program that featured recordings and interviews with cast members that appeared in productions from 1927-1966. The show aired on December 11 and was hosted by Kreuger with announcer Richard Pyatt.

Norma Terris Private Recordings

Although Norma Terris never made commercial records, her voice was captured on a number of private recordings made from various radio appearances. In the summer of 1942, she recreated the role of Magnolia at the St. Louis Municipal Opera and recorded some selections for the local station KMOX. In 1977, she loaned these records to Miles Kreuger to copy, and we present them here.
